Indonesia companies; experiences on applying their Good Corporate Governance.

Herewith the experience of Indonesia companies, PT Timah and PT Astra International, in case of their records they had applied good corporate governance properly since before the economic crises hit Indonesia and good corporate governance became the hot issues in Indonesia economic recovery discourse. The fact shows that by applying good corporate governance these two companies have survived facing the economic crisis and become the front-runners getting the benefits of good corporate governance. 

A. Case of PT. Timah
One of the implementation of corporate governance in Indonesia is PT Timah. After running into financial problem in the early 90's, PT Timah undertook an exclusive restructuring. In line with the business reorganization, the company also undertook financial restructuring, which included quasi-reorganization, rebuilding its accounting and financial systems and policies, and renovation of its Management Information Systems....

B. Kasus PT Astra International 

Before 1992 Soeryadjaya family was the majority shareholder of PT Astra International. The company applied corporate governance properly although the majority shareholdership concentrated in one family's hand, however it is admitted that the penalty was usually unenforceable because of the majority shareholder tolerance.
