2. Organization of joint seminars and workshops to disseminate proper and correct information to the business community and public at large.
  1. FCGI Presentation and FCGI Press Release on the National Convention of Accountants (KNA) on 6 September 2000.
    At the same time the FCGI Booklet launched in the KNA Convention, there was the FCGI presentation presented by Mr. Chris Cooper, member of the board of FCGI represents the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Indonesian Chapter. The presentation concerning Towards Good Corporate Governance in Indonesia explained, beside the FCGI itself, basic principles of Good Corporate Governance, benefits from Good Corporate Governance, a brief history of corporate governance, perceived standard of corporate governance in the Asia region, the Indonesian agenda and the implementation issues. The presentation was attended by more than five hundred participants of the KNA Conventions throughout Indonesia.

    Applying the moment of KNA Convention, FCGI had initiated the FCGI Press Release as a result of reviewing the Code of Good Corporate Governance compiled in the FCGI Second Position Paper. FCGI Press Release stated the importance of the amendment of Company Law (UUPT) since one of the FCGI considerations is that UUPT regulates the authority of the Commissioner in a company is limited in supervising and giving advice to the Board of Directors. Whilst its responsibility is as wide as the Director is. For example, the Commissioner could be sued together with the Director by the shareholders. The press releases had been circulated also to the mass media agencies. 
  2. Indonesia Chamber of Commerce - West Java Regional Office Seminar 
    The seminar on "The Steps towards Good Corporate Governance (Langkah-langkah Menuju Good Corporate Governance)" performed Mr. F. Antonius Alijoyo, Member of the Board of FCGI representing IFEA, as one of the speakers on 2 November 2000 in Bandung. This one day distinctive seminar was held by the Indonesia Chamber of Commerce - West Java Regional Office and attended by top managers of certain Indonesian companies. The FCGI circulated 50 FCGI booklets on Good Corporate Governance to the distinctive participants.
  3. Faculty of Economy - Padjadjaran University (FE UNPAD) Seminar
    The theme of the seminar held by the Accounting Program of FE UNPAD was the relation within Information Technology and Applying Accounting Practices in order to implement good Corporate Governance. It was held on 3 November 2000 and presenting Mr. Tjandra Irawan, Member of the Board of FCGI. The FCGI booklets were also distributed in this seminar.
  4. FKSPI BUMN/BUMD Seminar
    The FKSPI seminar on "Good Governance within Public Sector and its Relation with the Local Autonomy in Indonesia" was held on 26 October 2000 in Yogyakarta. It was framed in the moment of FKSPI BUMN/BUMD Annual Work Meeting Year 2000. In the FKSPI seminar, the acting chairman of FCGI, Mr. Eddie M. Gunadi delivered the presentation concerning "The Role of Internal Auditor in Good Corporate Governance". Furthermore the FCGI also distributed its publication, FCGI Booklet on Corporate Governance amounting to 100 booklets. 
  5. United Nation Development Program (UNDP) Conference
    As a follow up of the establishment of TI-Indonesia and workshop on corporate governance issues held by the TI-Indonesia cooperation with UNDP and KLSTI, the UNDP invited FCGI Member of the Board in the person of Mr. Krisnaraga Syarfuan to participate the UNDP conference on "Corporate Governance and the Financial Crisis Current Practice and Best Practice - The way Forward" in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at 20-21 November 2000. In the conference, Mr. Syarfuan presented the FCGI Position Paper on Action Plan in Implementation Good Corporate Governance. It is also distributed the FCGI Booklets on Corporate Governance amounting to 20 booklets. 
  6. National Committee on Good Corporate Governance (NCCG) Workshop
    The workshop on "Indonesian Code for Good Corporate Governance" was held in the purpose of finalizing the Code of Good Corporate Governance. The FCGI was one of the sponsors funding this workshop. Members of the board of FCGI attending the NCCG workshop on 23 November 2000 were Mr. Irwan M. Habsjah, Mr. Krisnaraga Syarfuan, and Mr. Rudyan Kopot. Besides the FCGI and other respective corporate governance institution, the NCCG workshop was attended by distinctive participants of State Owned Companies, universities, companies and association in the area of capital market business, etc.
  7. International Dialogue Foundation/Indonesian Committee for International Dialogue (IDF/INCID) Workshop
    The workshop dated 25 January 2001 was addressed to prepare the July 2001 workshop on Good Governance in the area of Parliamentary System, Judiciary System, Civil Servant Organization, and Corporate Governance. In the area of Corporate Governance, the FCGI was appointed to contribute some thoughts concerning good corporate governance practices. In the IDF workshop lead by Mr. Emil Salim, Chairman of Indonesian Committee of International Dialogue (INCID), the FCGI circulated 20 booklets on Corporate Governance. The FCGI was represented by Mr. Chris Cooper, Mr. Rudyan Kopot, and TB. M. Nazmudin Sutawinangun of the FCGI secretariat.
  8. The 7th CEO Briefing Workshop on "Strategic Treatment in Implementing Good Corporate Governance to the State-Owned Enterprises and Publicly Listed Company"
    The workshop opened by Mr. Prijadi Praptosuhardjo, the Minister of Finance and State-Owned Enterprises Supervision, was held on 8 February 2001. In this occasion, the FCGI presented the thoughts concerning Audit Committee in the company in line with the implementation good corporate governance. On behalf of Acting Chairman of FCGI, Mr. Eddie Gunadi was the moderator while Mr. Chris Cooper, on behalf of Member of the Board FCGI, presented the Papers on the Audit Committee Roles in Corporate Governance. The workshop was attended by the CEOs of 150 State Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and the FCGI circulated 200 FCGI booklets to the participants. The workshop was organized by Corporate Leadership Development Institute.
  9. Presentation on Corporate Governance and the FCGI activities before the PT. (Persero) Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Jasindo) Board of Management.
    On 9 February 2001 the Jasindo invited FCGI to present and to explain some thoughts and ideas concerning implementation good corporate governance since the Jasindo would have the program to implement good corporate governance in the year 2001. The discussion on Corporate Governance in Jasindo, who is one of the State Owned Enterprise in the are of Insurance business activity, was attended by the Board of Management of Jasindo and top manager throughout Jasindo Jakarta divisions. The FCGI speakers were Mr. Eddie M. Gunadi (IAI-KAM), Mr. Chris Cooper (IIA-Indonesian Chapter), and Mr. Irwan M. Habsjah (IFEA) attended by Mr. Elmar Bouma (INA), Mr. Abdurachim Husein (APEI), and TB. M. Nazmudin Sustawinangun of FCGI Secretariat.
  10. Co-sponsored Workshop on "The Roles of Internal Auditor: From the 'Watch Dog' to the Internal Consultation".
    The FCGI co-sponsored the workshop on Internal Audit held by IIA-Indonesian Chapter, YPIA, and FKSPI BUMN/BUMD, in Bandung on 19 - 20 February 2001. Those three associations are FCGI joining members. The profile of FCGI with its objectives and purposes, activities, and programs to disseminate Good Corporate Governance to the business community in Indonesia and public at large were circulated in the aforementioned workshop.
  11. Launching New Version of Indonesian Code of Good Corporate Governance drafted by the NCCG.
    As a follow up of the NCCG workshop on "Indonesian Code for Good Corporate Governance" dated 23 November 2000 where the FCGI was one of the sponsors of the workshop, the NCCG published the New Version of Indonesian Code of Good Corporate Governance on 5 April 2001. 

    The most significant avowal of the new version of the code is the code of good corporate governance is addressed to be applied not only by publicly listed companies but also be applied by any kind of companies established under Indonesian Law, for instance non-publicly listed companies, state-owned enterprises, etc. The code indicated to compose a sort of code of good corporate governance in specific industry by referring to the New Version of Good Corporate Governance drafted by NCCG as the umbrella code of conduct. Other FCGI thoughts contributions on the new version of the code is the nature of the code as dynamic and therefore be able to accommodate any transformations of the market and communities at large. On behalf of business communities, Mr. Eddie M. Gunadi, Acting Chairman FCGI, delivered his comments on the launching meeting.
  12. National Conference Year 2001 on "Enhancing Competitive Performance in Regional Autonomy Era" held by Dana Mitra Lingkungan/DML (Friends of the Environment Fund).
    The DML provides a forum for Indonesian business communities in order to figure out impacts of their business operation to the environment. One of the national conference sessions dated 17 April 2001 was about "Good Governance" whereby on behalf of Member of the Board FCGI Mr. Krisnaraga Syarfuan lead the good governance session as the moderator. 
  13. National Seminar of Indonesian Accountant concerning "Change Management; Requirements to Implement Good Corporate Governance" held by the Indonesian Accountant Association - Management Accountant Compartment (IAI-KAM).
    The national seminar dated 20 April 2001 presented Mr. Eddie M. Gunadi on behalf of Acting Chairman FCGI as the moderator on the session of "Change Management; Requirements to Implement Good Corporate Governance". Meanwhile one of the Members of the Board FCGI, Mr. Erry Riyana Hardjapamekas, was one of the speaker of the seminar.
